Draft development plan for Hisar locality approved

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government on Thursday approved the Draft Development Plan for Talwandi Rana in Hisar district so that it could be developed on the pattern of urban areas, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here after presiding over a meeting of the State level Committee of the Town and Country Planning Department.

He disclosed that the Draft Development Plan had been prepared for a projected population of 20,000 up to the year 2025.

Mr. Hooda directed the officers of the Town and Country Planning Department to chalk out a proposal for development of Hisar also.

He disclosed that while 106 acres of land in Talwandi Rana had been earmarked for the industrial sector, 950 acres had been reserved for residential and commercial areas, public utilities, transport and communication and other purposes.

He said residential colonies were coming up in the area due to proximity to Hisar and the Development Plan had become necessary to check haphazard development.

Urban Local Bodies Minister Mahender Partap Singh, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Industries) Y.S. Malik, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Chhatar Singh, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Town and Country Planning) D.S. Dhesi, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (PWD-B and R) S.S. Dhillon, and Director Town and Country Planning T.C. Gupta also attended the meeting.
