New delhi: A month after the Delhi government passed the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) Bill, transferring the management of industrial areas from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to the DSIIDC, the MCD has decided to introduce a new condition for approval of building plans on industrial plots.

MCD Standing Committee chairperson R K Singhal said the agency will grant approval to those who submit their building plans on industrial plots till October 31 in accordance with its bylaws. A No Objection Certificate from DSIIDC will not be needed.

“Building plans for about a thousand factories and plots in places like Bawana and Narela could not be approved for almost two years because they were not in accordance with the standard plan prescribed by the DSIIDC,” Singhal said. “The government has, however, decided to give six months to such plot-owners to get their plans sanctioned by the MCD and start construction on their plots.”

“There are over 8,000 such allottees and we appeal to them to avail the opportunity and apply for sanction of their building plans,” Singhal said. Instructions have been issued to the Building department to expeditiously dispose of such applications, he added.
