For BMTC bus service, go to Google Maps

BANGALORE: Don’t know which bus to take?  Just Google it.

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will collaborate with Google to provide information on bus routes and timings to commuters through Google Maps.

So, all you need to use the facility to be provided by the Internet search giant is a computer or a mobile phone.

“We believe that this initiative will be very useful to people who take BMTC buses every day,” said Syed Zameer Pasha, the managing director of BMTC.

“We are proud to be the first bus service to provide this kind of a service on Google Maps to commuters,” he said.

The information service will also be the first such bus-related service for Google in India.

At your fingertips

At present, the information will be limited to the Vajra, Vayu Vajra and Big10 bus services.

“Through Google maps, commuters can access information such as bus frequency, routes and travel duration,” said Manik Gupta, the head of Maps and Local Products, Google India.
