AMC approves bus fare hike from April 1

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation approved increase in bus fares Thursday. The new fares will be applicable from April 1.

Keeping minimum fare in AMTS at Rs 3, the maximum fare has been increased from Rs 11 to Rs 25. There has been an increase of 50 per cent in the popular schemes of monthly season pass from Rs 600 to Rs 900 while the rate for quarterly season pass has been gone up from Rs 1,600 to Rs 2,400. The daily full-day ticket rate has gone up from Rs 30 to Rs 45 for men and Rs 10 to Rs 15 for children, according to an AMC release. For women, the full-day ticket fare will be Rs 30 instead of Rs 20. It also cancelled day-long journey pass scheme for students. The prepaid student concession fare will be Rs 125 per academic session against the current rate of Rs 100.

The minimum BRTS fare has gone up from Rs 3 to Rs 4 while the maximum shot up from Rs 28 to Rs 36.
