GHMC plans to ease traffic at Sastripuram

The GHMC has proposed to take the services of an experienced consultancy to prepare a detailed project report after conducting a feasibility study.

To reduce traffic congestion during peak hours, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has proposed to construct a grade separator (over bridge or under bridge) at Sastripuram on the road from Mylardevpally to Falaknuma RTC bus depot across Secunderabad-Faluknama-Sivarampally railway line.

The GHMC has proposed to take the services of an experienced consultancy to prepare a detailed project report after conducting a feasibility study.

The study would include traffic during peak hours, pedestrian analysis, train traffic count, traffic growth rate etc. GHMC officials told Express the study should include a detailed topographic survey, geo-technical investigations, preliminary design and cost estimation.

The consultant firm has to conduct reconnaissance survey of major intersections before commencing field surveys.

Through all the project phases, the GHMC wants the consultant to use the latest construction techniques for fast, efficient and economical completion of works.

As far as possible requirement of land acquisition should be avoided. The consultant will also assist in zeroing on shifting of utilities of all types to ensure trouble free execution of the project.

As soon as possible after being awarded the contract, the consultant shall support the GHMC in preparing the timetable for implementation of the project.
