4 parking lots fetch MC Rs 2cr

CHANDIGARH: The auction of four parking lots in the city received a good response on Friday.

It brought over Rs 2 crore in the municipal corporation kitty against the reserve price of Rs 92.5 lakh. The lots are situated in sectors 17, 34 and Industrial Area, Phase I.

Sahib Singh automatic parking lot in Sector 17 fetched Rs 71 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 43.18 lakh. Empire Store automatic parking lot, also in Sector 17, was auctioned for Rs 52.52 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 26.40 lakh.

The one in front of Elante mall, Industrial Area, Phase I, and another adjoining Piccadilly Square in Sector 34 went under the hammer at Rs 58.15 lakh and Rs 11.20 lakh, respectively, against the reserve price of Rs 11.99 lakh and 11 lakh.

Sources in MC said new contractors have taken the charge of three of the four lots."It was a close contest for Sector 17 automatic parking lots as the commercial hub witnesses many a footfall," said an MC official.
