Arogya Sena flays PMC on metro project

After the general body of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) gave its nod to the proposed metro rail project last week, the Arogya Sena has protested the way the proposal was passed by the corporators and administration without any dialogue with the citizens. In a press release, the Arogya Sena has condemned the civic body for not involving citizens in the discussion on Metro. “The ruling parties did not care to take people’s opinion on the project and pushed the proposal with sheer majority in the house. These parties did not even let people know what the Metro project is, which is worth over Rs 10,000 crore. Even the mayor, who had earlier opposed the Metro plan, did not speak anything. ,” the Arogya Sena said. The Arogya Sena has threatened to launch an agitation if no proper discussion was held on the issue.
