Rs. 13-crore water project for Haliyal

Karwar: The Government has sanctioned a drinking water project of Rs. 13 crore to Haliyal town, according to Suneel Hegade, MLA from Haliyal constituency.
Addressing presspersons at Haliyal on Tuesday, Mr. Suneel Hegade said that he had submitted a proposal for a drinking water project to the authority concerned. This proposal had been accepted and Rs. 6 crore had been sanctioned. The town panchayat should call a meeting soon and pass a resolution to use the sanctioned money for the project.
He said that apart from this amount, another Rs. 7.34 crore had been sanctioned for drinking water projects under different schemes. For the proper utilisation of the grants, a meeting of elders and important persons of Haliyal will be called, he said.
