Daily water supply likely to resume in parts of core city

Hyderabad, Sept. 8: Daily water supply is likely to be resumed in some of the areas of core city after a gap of nearly six months. The daily supply to nearly 3.5 lakh of the total 5.5 lakh connections in core area was stopped in March following the water levels in the Osmansagar, Himayatsagar, Singur and Manjira plummeting to dead storage levels.

However, with incessant rains in the last two months, water levels are now just a few feet short of reaching full tank levels at these reservoirs.

Over 20 TMC feet of water has flown into the four reservoirs this rainy season. Greater Hyderabad requires 18 TMC to 20 TMC feet of water per annum.
