Moga city gets `69 cr for sewerage, water supply projects

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday gave nod for the projects of sewerage, water supply and roads at a cost of `69.97 crore for Moga city. Presiding over a meeting with the senior officers of the Departments of Local Government, Water Supply & Sanitation and PWD (B&R) here, Badal directed them to complete these works positively by November 30, 2011 and assured of adequate funds.

Badal said that `69.97 crore had been earmarked for water supply, sewerage and roads in Moga. Giving the break up, he said that `63.62 crore would be spent on sewerage, `4.35 crore on water and `2 crore on roads.

Badal asked the officials to regularly monitor the progress of projects with the executive officer of the local municipal council to ensure its quality as well as timely completion. The Chief Minister also said the entire funding of these projects has been tied up and the nodal departments of local Government and water supply and sanitation for the implementation of these projects had been asked to get these works executed under their direct supervision.
