Water board MD goes on a ‘field trip'

Hyderabad: Water Board Managing Director M. Jagadeeshwar inspected some residential areas under Red Hills division on Tuesday morning during water supply timings. He inspected the water supply in Sitarampet, Gode Ki Khaber and adjoining areas. Some residents were seen collecting water from taps outside their houses leading to wastage of water. A resident was caught using motor to pump water to upper floors in spite of the pressure being good. Officials seized the motor. Mr. Jagadeeshwar also checked the presence of residual chlorine in water, verified bills of some residents. He instructed the officials to issue notices to some consumers who did not have meters. At Darusalam, he found water gushing out from a damaged 450 mm diameter pipe during the excavation work for laying sewer pipe lines. The general manager (engineering), project division VII, was instructed to rectify the damage immediately.
