Water board officials to make surprise inspections

Hyderabad: For better management of water supply and sewerage system, senior level officials of Water Board are asked to inspect the Operation and Maintenance divisions from 6 to 9 a.m everyday from December 1.

They have to verify the water supply timing schedule, MCC complaints, look into bill payments at site and interact with consumers to get feedback about services being rendered.

Soon after inspection, the chief general managers are instructed to file inspection reports.

M. Jagadeeshwar, Managing Director, Water Board, who recently inspected certain divisions, felt it necessary to monitor the water supply timings, redressal of complaints, revenue billing and collections by senior level officers like chief general mangers.

This exercise is also intended to make them acquainted with the entire water supply system and in turn train the section managers in better management. Any slackness will be viewed seriously and action taken against the concerned, Mr. Jagadeeshwar warned the officials on Tuesday.

A fixed timetable is given for random inspection of various divisions. The director (projects) will inspect Division I, V, VII and IX, director (technical) Divisions II, VI, X and XII, director ( operations) Divisions II, XIII, XV and XVI, executive director, Divisions IV and XIV. The managing director will conduct surprise inspections.
