Summer plan in place for water problems
NOIDA: To ensure that water supply in Noida are not hampered during the summer months from May to July, the Noida Authority
has adopted a 'special action plan'. All technical issues related to
water supply would be handled by a 30-member team of engineers
constituted by the Noida Jal Board.
The engineers will mitigate supply-related problems at the tubewells or in the pipelines. The action plan would be in operation from May 1 to July 31.
The team has been handed over the primary task of checking various tube-wells of the Authority operating in various parts of the city. The team would ensure that the tube-wells remain in perfect working conditions throughout the summer months.
Officials said that during summers tubewells often break down due to heavy loads. "If the problem is minor, the team will undertake repairs immediately. Heavier maintenance work would be carried out by technicians," said an official. The team will also regularly inspect the network of pipelines for breakages and blockages.
Besides, the Authority has launched an emergency helpline number. Residents facing problems can dial 0120-2421490 to report the problem. The helpline is at the office of Division-I of the Jal Board in Sector 5 and would be operational from 6am to 10pm. "The complaints would be immediately passed over to concerned engineers for remedial measures," added an official.
