Water supply hit in Thiruvananthapuram

Water supply to parts of the city remained disrupted throughout Sunday owing to maintenance work at the Aruvikkara reservoir.

The Kerala Water Authority (KWA) had issued a notice late on Friday notifying the areas likely to be hit. Tank washing at Aruvikkara caused the areas coming under the Kuriathy section of the Authority to go dry. These included regions from Thampanoor to Shangumugham.

Water supply was restored only late night on Sunday, with KWA officials saying that it would take till midnight for sufficient pressure to build up.
