MYSORE: The district administration, the Mysore City Corporation and the Department of Health and Family Welfare jointly launched a door-to-door drive on Monday to spread awareness on steps to prevent the spread of chikungunya, malaria and dengue fever. The drive will take place in two phases in the next six days. It will be monitored and documented by the Health Department.
Teams
Apart from 25 doctors drawn from various government hospitals, 168 teams, each consisting of two students from different nursing colleges, will participate in the drive.
The teams will cover the southern parts of Mysore in the first three days and will cover the northern parts of the city in the remaining days.
In addition to surveying the sanitation standards in the localities, each team will visit at least 200 households in each locality and distribute pamphlets.
Blood samples
The teams have been asked to take blood samples from persons with symptoms of these diseases and also distribute medicines.
