Municipal admin dept sets up dashboard

HYDERABAD: The Telangana urban dashboard of the municipal administration department was launched in the office of the commissioner & director of municipal administration (CDMA) here on Friday.  
 

Municipal administration secretary Navin Mittal, who launched the facility, said initiatives such as the dashboard would help in monitoring the functioning of the department better.

Explaining salient features of dashboard, director of municipal administration TK Sridevi said it would be useful to evaluate performance of different wings and programmes of municipal administration department.

GHMC lays plastic road in Sainikpuri

Another stretch in the city is getting new roads with disposable plastic material in it. In the first, second and third Crescent Road in Sainikpuri, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has taken up the construction of plastic road over a length of 3 kilometres.

The new road will come up at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh, according to Executive Engineer Dattupanth.

The life of the experimental road is expected to be seven years.

The disposable plastic will constitute 8% while the rest will be bitumen, he said. A total of 2% will be saved on the project because of the usage of plastic.

Segregate your waste in Hassan from June 5

The Hassan City Municipal Council (CMC) has decided to introduce segregation of wet and dry waste at the collection point from June 5— the World Environment Day.

City Municipal Council Commissioner Nagabhushan has appealed to the people to give the wet and dry waste separately to the garbage-carrying vehicles.

Dustbins distributed


The City Municipal Council has already distributed dustbins of two different colours meant for segregating the waste at home.

“People should not dump plastic bags into the vehicles. They should keep the waste separately in two baskets and dump the same to the tipper when they come to their streets. Use of plastic bags is banned completely and those who violate the order will attract penalty,” Mr. Nagabhushan has futher stated in the circular issued here.
