Municipal school students to get free uniform

KRISHNAGIRI: All the 3,600 students studying in municipal schools would be given free uniforms soon, B. Farida Nawab, Chairperson, Krishnagiri Municipality, said here recently.

Presiding over the Teachers' Day function Ms. Farida Nawab said that there are 17 schools, including aided schools, functioning within the Municipal limits. Of this, six were Urdu primary and middle schools.

Participating at the celebrations as chief guest, Collector V. Arun Roy congratulated the administration for honouring the teaching community.

Samacheer Kalvi

T. Senguttuvan, MLA, spoke about the steps taken by the Government to improve the education sector including the ‘Samacheer Kalvi' system from this academic year. M. Baskaran, Chief Educational Officer (SSA) and other officials from the education department spoke on the occasion.

M. Nagarajan, Headmaster, Municipal Middle School, Oldpet, welcomed the gathering. Teachers and students of Municipal schools participated in large numbers.
