Act quickly on petitions, says Mayor

Mayor S.M. Velusamy has asked officials to act quickly and seriously on petitions he had received during the weekly grievance meeting.

A release from the civic body says that the Mayor also asked the officials to update him on the action taken during the next grievances meeting.He then gave away insurance amount to the kin of those workers who had died in harness.

He gave away Rs. 7.50 lakh to five families at Rs. 1.50 lakh each.Commissioner T.K. Ponnusamy, Deputy Commissioner S. Sivarasu and other officials from the civic body were present at the meeting, the release adds.
