Commercial entities to meet Corporation officials
Representatives of commercial establishments, such as marriage halls, will meet with Chennai Corporation officials on Wednesday to resolve the issue over collection of conservancy charges.
The Chennai Corporation had increased the conservancy charges last year. Attempts to resolve the issue at previous meetings in the past few months had failed.
The conservancy charges for marriage halls with a seating capacity of more than 1,000 had been increased from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 86,400 per year.
