'ASI must take up bridge construction'
Thanjavur Municipal Council has appealed to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to take up the construction of a new bridge across Grand Anicut canal near Big Temple. A resolution was adopted at the Municipal Council meeting here on Tuesday. The resolution said that already Rs.1 crore was allotted for construction of a new bridge across GA canal.
