Salem Mayor inspects works
Mayor S. Soundappan along with Commissioner M. Ashokan inspected the ongoing works being carried out in Ammapet Zone at a total cost of Rs. 9.26 crore. Construction of retaining wall is being carried out on Ananda Bridge, after which approach road would be laid on both the sides. The much-delayed Rs. 1.4-crore project has finally seen the light after compensations were paid to the land owners for the acquired land.
He also inspected construction of additional classroom in Indira Gandhi Corporation High School in Ammapet, drainage works in Ramanathapuram Odai, construction of overhead water tank for the Mettur – Salem Dedicated Water Supply Scheme and other works in the zone.
