Mayor inspects works at GRH
Corporation Mayor V.V.Rajan Chellappa on Wednesday inspected the works going on at the budget canteen (Amma Unavagam) at the Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) here.
Since a large number of people visit the GRH every day, the Corporation has decided to open the budget canteen on the hospital premises. Already, 10 canteens have been opened at various places in the city.
After instructing the authorities to expedite the works, Mr.Rajan Chellappa said a reverse osmosis plant would be set up in the canteen to supply purified drinking water to the people. A solar water heater would also be installed he noted.
The Mayor had a discussion with GRH Dean N. Mohan and the hospital authorities.
The Mayor also inspected Nelpettai and Sundararajapuram where budget canteens are to be opened shortly.
Yasodha Mani, City Health Officer, senior Corporation officials and Councillors accompanied the Mayor.
