‘Keep Ooty clean’

The civic administration has sought the cooperation of the people to keep this holiday destination clean and litter-free. In a press note issued here on Tuesday, the Municipal Commissioner K.Sivakumar said that the people in general and members of the mercantile community in particular should ensure that they dump their garbage and other forms of refuse only in the litter bins placed in various parts of the town. Regretting that the standard of sanitation was falling due to the garbage being dumped in public places and into channels, he said that the environmental degradation is affecting the residents and visitors.
