‘Doctors’ team ensures quality in Amma canteens’
The City Health Officer, Assistant City Health Officer and a team of 30 doctors from the Coimbatore Corporation are monitoring the quality of food served in Amma canteens, says a release from the Corporation.

The health wing officials also ensure that the canteen was maintained in a hygienic manner.
The release said that since the launch of the budget canteens in the city till July 13, the Corporation had sold 5.02 lakh idli s, 1.36 lakh plates of sambar rice and 1.17 lakh plates of curd rice. The Corporation started running 10 canteens on June 2 and since then it had been serving idlis in the mornings and sambar rice and curd rice for lunch.
