Civic body to revive toilets under PPP

The Corporation will revive the PPP (public private partnership) model for commissioning 2,000 public toilets in the city. According to the new proposal, advertisements will also be permitted inside the toilets.

More space for advertisement will be offered to private entities to promote the project.

The Chennai Corporation is already on a mission to repair and renovate all damaged toilets following a survey of 905 toilets across the 15 zones in the city.

Work on restoration of 294 damaged toilets is underway.

All the damaged toilets are expected to be completely restored by August 15, using Corporation funds.
