Tax collection drive from today

TIRUCHI: The City Corporation will launch an intensive eleven-day tax collection drive from Monday, with a view to facilitating the members of the public to remit their property tax without any hitch.
Arrear property tax, water tax and professional tax besides all the taxes for the first and second half years for the current financial year 2010-11 should be remitted at the Corporation's service centres at Ponmalai, Ko.Abhishekapuram, Srirangam, Ariyamangalam.
The same may be remitted at the Collection Centres functioning at Ariyamangalam; Subramaniapuram; Melkalkandarkottai, K.K. Nagar, Kalla Theru, Nandikovil Street, Woraiyur, Edamalaipattiputhur and Thevar Hall.
Service centres
The service centres and collection centres would be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.In a press release issued here on Sunday, T. T. Balsamy, Corporation Commissioner, has urged the members of the public to take maximum advantage of the facility and remit the taxes due to the Corporation.This facility will be in addition to the recently-introduced mobile collection of taxes, the release added.
