Students take out rally to create awareness on rainwater harvesting
About 1,000 students of the Government Higher Secondary Schools for boys and girls in Tiruchengode town took out an awareness rally on the need to effectively harvest rain water. The rally was organised by the Tiruchengode Municipality to create awareness among the people of the town on the need to make arrangements to store rainwater.
Tiruchengode Municipal Chairman Pon Sarawathi flagged off the rally at the Tiruchengode Government Higher Secondary Schools for Girls. The students carried awareness placards on the need for proper rainwater harvesting to face the acute drinking water crisis.
The rally concluded at the school where it was flagged off.
Officials and ward councillors of the municipality and other elected representatives also took part in the rally.
