German students call on Coimbatore Mayor

A team of 10 students and two teachers from Zollberg Realschule school in Esslingen, Germany, were at the Coimbatore Corporation on Tuesday to call on the Mayor S.M. Velusamy, Corporation Commissioner G. Latha and other officials.

It was a courtesy call and a familiarisation trip as the students were here on an exchange visit, said Madhumitha Suresh, Principal, G.D. Matriculation Higher Secondary School. The students arrived here, at the school, on October 12 and would be leaving on October 31. They were staying at the houses of those students who would be leaving for Germany in May 2014 as part of the same exchange programme.

The school had taken the students to a few museums in the city, Valparai, regional science centre and also on elephant trip.

Ms. Suresh said that the students were from classes eight to 10. The Mayor greeted the students and teachers with shawl.
