Local Administration Day celebrated

TIRUCHI: A large number of employees and elected representatives of the Tiruchi Corporation took out a rally in the city on Sunday as part of the Local Administration Day observation.
The rally, to highlight the civic services rendered by the local body and also to promote cleanliness and hygiene, was taken out from the Central Bus Stand to the Corporation office. Mayor S.Sujatha, Commissioner T.T. Balsamy, Deputy Mayor M. Anbazhagan and senior officials also marched in the rally.
Later at a brief function at the Corporation office, Transport Minister K.N. Nehru distributed prizes to winners of various competitions and games organised over the past couple of days as part of the observation. The games and competitions, including cricket, badminton, throwball, athletics and rangoli, saw the enthusiastic participation, of the elected representatives and employees of the Corporation.
