Corporation council okays 56 resolutions
CHENNAI: Nod for land acquisition spendings for flyover at Ganeshapuram, appointment of third party consultant in Ripon Building restoration works and installing modern lights for Napier Bridge were among the 56 resolutions adopted by the Chennai Corporation during its monthly Council Meet held on Monday.
When the proceedings began in the morning, Congress Party leader in the Corporation Saidai P Ravi moved a complementary resolution to thank the Mayor M Subramanian and Commissioner Rajesh Lakhoni for their strong efforts to get the State government’s quick nod for erecting late Congress stalwart G K Moopanar’s bronze statue at Anna Salai-Cenotaph Road intersection.
The councillors also observed two minutes silence for former Ward councillor and standing committee (Health) chairman Vannai Devaki who passed away recently.
