Drinking water augmentation project inspected

TIRUCHI: The Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited (TNUIFSL) Assistant Vice President Rajendran and Corporation Commissioner T.T. Balsamy inspected the progress of the ongoing drinking water augmentation project here on Wednesday.

The project is being executed through the TNUIFSL at a total cost of Rs. 169 crore with a view to ensuring equitable distribution of drinking water supply to all places falling with the corporation limits.

Under the scheme, collector wells were being sunk at three places in the Coleroon river in Melur area.

Apart from this, a ground-level reservoir was also being constructed with a capacity to hold nine lakh litres of water.
