Colour TVs at maternity hospitalsChennai, Sept. 3: Colour television sets will be installed at all corporation maternity hospitals to entertain in-patients and pregnant women, mayor M. Subramanian said on Friday.
Addressing a free colour TV set distribution function at Taramani, he said the corporation has taken up several initiatives to improve the conditions of the corporation-run maternity hospitals. As a result more pregnant women are being admitted to these hospitals.
Earlier, 8,000 to 10,000 pregnant women used to get admitted to these hospitals each year, whereas the number is now over 17,000.
