Rangarajapuram flyover misses deadline again

CHENNAI: The Rangarajapuram flyover, a joint venture of  Chennai Corporation and Railways, at  Kodambakkam has missed the deadline again.

The commissioning of the two-way facility being constructed at a cost of `24 crore has been postponed for the fourth time on Thursday.  The 962-metre bridge is aimed at easing traffic congestion in and around Kodambakkam, T Nagar and Mambalam.

After inspecting the ongoing work at  Rangarajapuram, Mayor M Subramanian told the media that the Y-shaped facility was expected to completed by December and opened by January next year. Of the project cost of `24 crore, Chennai Corporation was extending `16 crore.
