Perambalur gets underground drainage system
The underground drainage system for Perambalur town, inaugurated through videoconference by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Wednesday has fulfilled a much felt need of the residents. The scheme, executed at a cost of Rs.31.91 crore, incorporates wastewater recycling facility and will benefit 5,431 households in Perambalur municipal limits. The UGD system has a pipeline network running to 94, 545 metres, with mainlines used for pumping sewage laid to a length of 1,800 metres. The system incorporates 3,200 manholes, one main pumping station, and a wastewater recycling plant, according to a release.
