Dharmapuri Municipality to get a new building at a cost of Rs. 2-crore Higher Education Minister Palaniappan laid foundation stone
Foundation stone laid for new office
DHARMAPURI: Higher Education Minister P.Palanippan laid the foundation stone for construction of a two storey building for Dharmapuri Municipality at a cost of Rs. 2-crore here on Saturday.
Speaking at the function, the minister said that the present building of the municipality was constructed 60 years ago, hence, it was decided to construct the new building to cope with the fast developing town. Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs. 1.40-crore and the balance amount Rs. 60-crore would be given from the general fund of the Municipality.The 17,760.45 sq. ft building will come up in the Municipal High school campus, he added.
