Indore Municipal Corporation gets proposal to produce fuel from plastic waste
The company has given proposal to the corporation which can earn more
than Rs 24 lakh per day. The project would incur cost of Rs 4 crore. The
company has patented technology that converts plastic waste into
combustible fuel. The company has also proposed to buy oil produced from
the plant.
As per the estimates, Indore generates nearly 1890
ton of waste every day of which 189 ton is plastic waste. According to
the company officials, the per day operation cost of Rs 3.78 lakh and if
this amount is deducted IMC stands to earn Rs 24.57 lakh from the deal.
The company will showcase the technology at an exhibition in
Bhopal on Friday. The technology developed is claimed to emit lesser
exhaust of sulphur than diesel and also brings down the knocking in
engines. “No modification is required in the engines of cars as well
industrial appliances. The fuel produced from plastic waste costs at
least Rs 10 per litre less than diesel,” said a company official.
