Kanpur Municipal Corporation staff ends strike, cleaning work begins
KANPUR: The lifting of garbage
resumed on Monday when employees of municipal corporation joined their
duties after three days of strike. In a joint effort with A2Z, around
1000 tonnes of garbage was lifted from various places of the city. An
official of Kanpur Municipal Corporation said that rain had caused
hurdles in the work. The municipal corporation employees were on strike
since June 12 last when some residents had thrashed a sanitation
supervisor and local corporator.
