KMC seizes account of UP Power Transmission Corporation
Vinay Kumar Rai zonal officer of Zone – 5 in a letter to Central Bank of India Panki
Power house branch Kanpur directed that the account of UP Power
Transmission Corporation had been seized by him under the powers of
section 509/513 UP Nagar Nigam Act. The zonal director directed to stop
any transaction till any further order passed by him. The zonal officer
informed that a notice for recovery of Rs 95,72,723 as general tax was
duly served on Corporation on February 12,2013. The corporation failed
to deposit the arrears and as a result nagar nigam attached its one of
account.
Meanwhile nagar nigam also initiated proceedings of
attachment against Shah Group Panki Industrial Estate for recovery of Rs
8,90,063. During the proceedings management Shah group deposited a
cheque of Rs 2 lakh and sought time of one week to deposit the remaining
amount. Municipal corporation officials thereafter dropped the
attachment proceedings.
