According to KWA officials, after completing the work, water will be supplied through the new pipeline.

“The
pipe laying work will be completed within couple of weeks. The 3,300
metre pipe will be laid using a fund of  `3 3.50 lakh,” the official
said.

The decision is in the wake of frequent pipe bursts along the stretch which was disrupting the water supply to the region.

“The new pipeline will help provide undisrupted water to the area.

Earlier, frequent pipe bursts was affecting the water supply as the pipeline was installed more than 20 years ago.

We are using MMDI pipes which will last long and people will will not worry about the water supply,” official added.

Meanwhile,
Tripunthura Municipal Chairman R Venugopal said frequent pipe bursts
were forcing them to waste more fund to repair the road. “Moreover,
vehicular movement was affected owing to the frequent road repairing
work. At the end, we have decided to lay a new pipe line through the
stretch,” the chairman said.
