LDA seals shops in Gomtinagar
LUCKNOW: An enforcement squad of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) sealed a section of shops in a commercial complex in Virat Khand, Gomtinagar, on Tuesday. The drive saw protest by some of shopkeepers but they were controlled by the police force accompanying the squad.
The drive was mainly carried out against five shopkeepers who had constructed unauthorised shops. The shop owners who were taken to task by the enforcement squad included: Tarak Nath Gupta (shop number A-1), Prem Sagar (shop number F-3), Santosh Yadav (shop number F-2), Om Narayan (shop number F-1) and Shanaz Farooqi (shop number B-6).
The enforcement squad also sealed a men’s saloon in Vipul Khand. The authority claimed that the parlour, owned by one Prem Kumar Satsangi, was being run on a plot with a residential land use. The parlour was constructed in the basement of the plot. LDA sealed the plot despite some resistance from the owner.
