License must for pet dogs: GHMC

Hyderabad:
The Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation M.T.
Krishna Babu on thursday said that as per the Animal Birth Control (Dog)
Rules 2007 of GHMC, owners of pet dogs have to compulsorily take
license for their pets.
The owners of the dogs can get the license
with GHMC by paying an amount of Rs 50 per dog per year and Rs 1000 per
dog per year for Breeder dogs (Kennels) at government Veterinary
Hospitals or at private pet clinics or at Blue Cross of Hyderabad,
Jubilee Hills or at Citizen Service Centers at Parking Complex, Abids
and Khairtabad in the limits of Central Zone, GHMC.
A receipt will
be given for the amount paid and a dog token will be issued for
licensing their pet dogs. The pet dog licensing will start from
12.05.2013 onwards for the year 2013-2014.
