Limited water supply to Nagpur areas
NAGPUR: Following a flood like situation in the Kanhan River near the intake wells, the suction strainers at the new raw water intake well got submerged. This has resulted into reduced raw water supply to Kanhan water treatment plant. “Pumping cannot be done at the fullest of the plant’s capacity unless the situation normalizes,” said an official from the Orange City Water Limited (OCW), the firm entrusted with city’s water supply and maintenance works.
As a result, parts of the city, receiving water from Kanhan Water Treatment Plant i.e. North and East Nagpur, will get limited water supply and that too at a low pressure. Regretting the inconvenience caused to the citizens, officials urged citizens to co-operate with Nagpur Municipal Corporation and OCW.
