Panchayat and Social Welfare Minister M K Muneer said that the local
bodies should take keen interest in the expenditure of plan projects.
He
was speaking at the meeting on Thursday to evaluate the plan projects
of the local bodies in Kottayam, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and
Thiruvananthapuram districts for the year 2012-13. Though there were
some problems in implementing the projects when the computerisation
process was going on as part of the 12th Five Year Plan, it has now
become more faster. He reminded that this year the expenditure of the
panchayats will be far better than the previous year.
The minister
also said that the local bodies should take the initiative for
completion of projects on time. Evaluation of the project implementation
should be conducted daily or on a weekly basis.
The meeting was
presided over by District Panchayat president Remani P Nair. Panchayats
Director S Lalithambika, Deputy director Syed, State Performance officer
Divakaran Pillai and Pathanamthitta District Panchayat president Sajeev
Chacko participated.
