Local body by-elections on September 18
The State Election Commission has announced by-election to vacant posts in local bodies on September 18.
A
release from the district administration said that election to the
vacancies in Pollachi Municipality (Ward 31), Sulur Town Panchayat
(chairman), Sirumugai, No. 24 Veerapandi, Kottur, Sarcar Samakulam and
Vettaikaranpudur Town Panchayats, Annur Panchayat Union (Ward 7),
Kinathukadavu Panchayat Union (Ward 12), Sulur Panchayat Union (Ward 7
and 12) and 24 panchayat would be held.
Persons keen
on contesting the election could file their nomination till August 13.
The next day, officials concerned would take up the scrutiny of
nominations.
Counting
The last date for withdrawal of nomination was August 16. The counting of votes would take place on September 20.
The elections were being held for the aforementioned posts as they fell vacant prior to April 2014, the release added.
