Maintain peace, appeals PMC
PUNE: A day before the Allahabad high court’s Ayodhya verdict, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and mayor Mohansingh Rajpal on Wednesday appealed that citizens maintain law and order and peace in the city.
The PMC general body on Wednesday approved a resolution that all citizens should maintain law and order and also help maintain the social and religious fabric of the city. All party leaders supported the resolution and said that no one should get involved in any sort of instigation activities or create problems for fellow citizens.
In fact, water cuts slated for Thursday were withdrawn after standing committee chairman Arvind Shinde said that the civic administration should avoid inconveniencing citizens.
Meanwhile, municipal commissioner Mahesh Zagade convened a meeting of civic officials and later said that people should cooperate with the PMC. “All municipal services will be functioning as usual and civic offices will be open. The administration is ensuring that no panic situation is created by miscreants in civic establishments.”
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MLA Mahadev Babar reiterated the appeal for maintaining peace in the city. He said that whatever be the Ayodhya verdict, all citizens must respect the same and ensure that regular life is not affected.

A day before Allahabad High Court’s verdict on the Ayodhya dispute the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has appealed citizens to maintain law and order situation in the city and maintain peace.
A General Body (GB) of the PMC on Wednesday approved a resolution stating that all citizens should maintain law and order and help to maintain the social and religious fabric of the city. All party leaders supported the resolution and stated that no one should get involved in any instigation and create problems for fellow citizens.
After standing committee chairman Arvind Shinde demanded that civic administration should withdraw a water supply on Thursday to avoid any inconvenience to citizens, the civic administration announced withdrawal.
Earlier the administration had decided to impose one day water cuts on Thursday in all parts of the city. However with the administration withdrawing water cuts all parts of the city will receive normal water supply.
All the municipal services will be functioning as usual and civic offices will be open. The civic administration has ensured that no panic situation is created by miscreants in civic establishments.
Meanwhile Shiv Sena MLA Mahadev Babar has appealed for peace in the city. He said that whatever is the verdict of the court all citizens must respect the same and ensure that routine life in city is not affected.
