The development plan of Maradu municipality, with its focus on
charity programmes, was released by Excise Minster K Babu here on
Tuesday.
As per the plan Rs 6 lakh has been allocated to provide
financial aid to the differently abled and asthma patients in the
region.“We have given special focus to charity programmes in the new development plan,” said municipal chairman T

physically-challenged people in the area. It will provide financial
assistance to the needy.
The survey to spot the mentally
challenged and asthma people will be conducted soon, after which
financial aid will be disbursed. If the fund already allocated to the
project is proved inadequate after the survey, the municipality will
raise the amount for the programme, Devarajan said.

development plan also includes two new projects. Flood lights and
walkway will be set up at Maradu Mangai School ground. An amount of Rs 5
lakh will be earmarked for the project. An amount of Rs 2 lakh has been
set apart for a public park in Kundanoor, while Rs 3 lakh has been
earmarked to provide insurance coverage for students. The total amount
set aside in the development plan is Rs 4 crore.
