Mayor donates Rs.15,000 to govt. school
Karimnagar Mayor S Ravinder Singh donated Rs.15,000 to
the Government High School at Sapthagiri Colony in Karimnagar town on
Tuesday for providing evening snacks to the SSC students attending
special classes for the ensuing examinations.
The
Mayor visited the school and participated in the community lunch along
with the students and expressed satisfaction over the quality of food
being served to the students. Following a plea from the school
management for providing some assistance to provide some snacks to the
SSC students attending for the evening classes till late hours, the
Mayor responded instantly and donated a cheque for Rs 15,000.
On
this occasion, he called upon the students to work hard and bring
reputation to their school and parents by excelling in the ensuing SSC
examinations. He informed the students not to feel inferior to their
private counterparts and reminded that he too studied in a government
school. He also promised to construct a vermi-compost for proper
disposal of the garbage and also a water harvesting structure to store
rain water on the school premises. He also promised to donate
broom-sticks and other sanitation material for the school.
School headmistress G Pramoda thanked the Mayor on the occasion.
