Mayor launches MCD’s Facebook page
To ensure prompt and effective monitoring of lifting of garbage from
areas under its jurisdiction and make way for a more transparent,
accountable and responsive administration, the Municipal Corporation of
Delhi officially launched its page on the social networking website
Facebook on Wednesday.
With the launch, those unhappy with the sanitation
standard in their area can log in to the MCD’s new Facebook page to
lodge a complaint with photographs if possible to redress their civic
woes.Delhi Mayor Prithvi Raj Sawhney formally initiated the MCD account
by signing as a member on the Facebook page. In his message on Facebook,
he appealed to the citizens of Delhi to join hands with the MCD to
monitor prompt and effective lifting of garbage.The page has already
been “liked” by nearly 400 netizens.
