Mayor lays foundation for additional school buildings
Mayor S.M. Velusamy on Friday laid the foundation for an
additional school building at the Corporation Middle School in
Ramanathapuram. A release from the civic body said that the building
will cost Rs. 33 lakh.
Mr. Velusamy also laid the
foundation for the construction of an auditorium in the Corporation
Boy’s Higher Secondary School in Ramanathapuram. The cost of the project
is Rs. 25 lakh.
The release says that the funds for
the projects come from Coimbatore South Member of Legislative Assembly
R. Doraisamy’s constituency development fund.
Earlier in the day, the Mayor also launched the work to lay the Mahatma Gandhi Road in Ward 59.
The new road will measure 1.50 km in length and 6.50 m in width. It is worth Rs. 22.10 lakh.
He asked the contractors to ensure that there was no compromise on the quality of work.
