Mayor regrets sharing dais with Togadia
HYDERABAD: In a damage control exercise, Mayor B. Kartika Reddy regretted sharing dais with VHP leader Praveen Togadia last week and said it was “totally unintentional”. In a communication to the APCC president D. Srinivas on Friday, the Mayor tried to clarify about her participation in a women’s programme organised by a social organisation as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations on Saturday last.
“…I was not aware of the fact that VHP leader Praveen Togadia would also be sharing the same dais. I was also not aware of the remarks made by Mr. Togadia at the programme which are unfortunately attributed to me,” she said in the letter.
Mrs. Reddy said that she left the programme after giving her message to the women. “I wish to mention that I did not make any comments that might hurt the sentiments of my Muslim brothers,” she clarified.
